Canada Day in Fallingbrook
Fireworks Cancelled for 2004 ! The Fallingbrook Community Association has been forced to cancel its annual display of fireworks this year, as well as all children's games and events during the day. Lake Avalon had been chosen as the new site due to construction at the Ray Friel Centre. On June 21, the owner of the land surrounding the lake, Minto, withdrew their permission to use the lake for fireworks, citing concerns about liability. The only event that will take place is the midway rides at Ray Friel. The Fallingbrook Community Association has been proudly hosting Canada Day celebrations since 1988, the largest all-volunteer run event in Canada. We are deeply disappointed to see the end of this tradition, and apologize to the tens of thousands of people who come each year. |
