Planned Events for 2008The spring cleanup day at Petrie Island will take place Saturday, May 10. Bring a rake and/or shovel, wear good boots, gloves. All volunteers are welcome to help keep our island clean. Events being planned by Friends of Petrie Island include River Day, the Wildflower Walks and Turtle Day in June, along with other theme days later in the season. Watch this space, and notices at the Interpretive Centre and parking area. The Friends of Petrie Island
The Friends of Petrie Island was formed in November 1997 and a constitution was approved in October 1998. It was incorporated in 2002. The volunteer organization consists of a 10-person executive which holds regular meetings the third Tuesday of each month, as well as a spring and fall general meeting. The yearly membership fee is $10.
