Getting to Petrie IslandPetrie Island is located on the Ottawa River, in the eastern part of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is accessed from Highway 174 (The Queensway) at Trim Road. If you are in downtown Ottawa, take Highway 417 east until "the split". Keep left at the split onto 174, which is still a four-lane limited-access highway that leads into Orleans. The first traffic light you will encounter is at Trim Road, at which you should turn left. If you like Google Maps, you can find us at http://maps.google.com/maps?q=ottawa,+canada&ll=45.495338,-75.490751&spn=0.025949,0.081539&hl=en. You can also use the sketch map below. If you drive, there is parking on the island, although this overflows during peak days. You will have to pay for parking: $2 for 5 hours, 07:00-18:00, 7 days a week. Please be advised that the Bylaw Officers regularly check for parking permits, even on Sunday evenings.
Bus ServiceThe nearest bus stop is the Trim Road park-and-ride lot. The 95 route runs every 15 minutes during the week. Unfortunately it is a 20 minute walk from Trim Road to Petrie Island. |
